1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we tested. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.
iRobot recommends that you tidy up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. It's also recommended to keep the bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is low it will return to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for the majority of households, but it also fits in well next to the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. The main issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a typical and not a remarkable time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. This is still enough to clean most of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to cover every area (though the second time around usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of types of debris and sizes during our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation features.
